Turning a Standard Promotional Postcard into Something Worth Keeping

In 2019, I was tasked with writing copy for a postcard that NorCal Cannabis was handing out at a cannabis industry retreat in the Mendocino redwoods.

Realizing how quickly promotional postcards end up in the recycling bin, I proposed a different approach: a retreat-themed sticker book.

Not only did it allow us to share more information, but it also sparked a bit of joy and made sure attendees actually wanted to keep it as a souvenir.

Encouragement, Humor, and Just the Right Amount of Fiber Facts

As a contributor to MyFitnessPal’s Instagram, I collaborated with the marketing team and designers to write copy that informed, empowered, and entertained.

By combining useful wellness tips with humor, cultural references, and a relatable tone, I helped bring the brand’s voice to life—striking a balance between motivation and "hey, we’ve all eaten dinner over the sink."

The result? Posts that felt less like lectures and more like smart, supportive nudges from a friend who also knows their way around a macro.
